Snowshoeing adventure

In the past I kept friends and family updated with the adventures occuring in our lives through the use google's picasa; however, I felt it was not as friendly as the EBlogger you are currently viewing. Each blog will not contain all the pictures of the adventure; At the conclusion of each blog entry I will also include a link to picasa for viewing all pictures.

After being postively influenced by my new buddy Matt(also living in "Forest'Tucky"), we decided to snowshoe out our backdoor instead of cross country skiing at Vallecito. Today it was 23 degrees but the sun was most excellent and it felt much warmer! We attempted to climb to one of the Grassy Mountain peaks, which according to USGS has peaks ranging from 9k to 10.2k.

The crew is getting ready for the event

Brianna listening to the tunes with a smile! I see many more back-country adventures in her future.

We were breaking new trail, it was fun yet good hard work! Notice the deer trail crossing our path.

Working our way up the mountain.

We did not make it to our destination due to leaving too late in the day. I have planned a bit better for attempt two: plotting a course and exporting it to the GPS and will plan to leave soon after a good breakfast. Stand by for the blog of the success!
